Reid Lockhart Wedges Impress on Debut

Reid Lockhart Wedges Patented Dual Bounce Sole

Reid Lockhart Wedges

I took the new Reid Lockhart Wedges out for their debut today on the course. I had about an 80 yard shot out of the rough on my approach to a par 5. I stuck it to about 3 feet. I didn’t see a ball mark so I couldn’t tell what sort of stopping power the shot had. I hit a couple from the fairway on the same hole from about 90 yards out. Both shots hit the green and sucked back 8-9 feet from the ball mark. These shots had some serious spin on them.

On the next hole, I tried several shots from about 85 yards to a firmer green. This green is notorious for resembling an asphalt parking lot in the summer as shots just bounce off of it and nothing holds. We’re having a wet spring here in Ohio but the green is still a bit firmer than the other greens on the course. I put five shots on the green and they each spun back anywhere from 3-6 feet.

Reid Lockhart Wedges

Reid Lockhart Wedges

I just got my Reid Lockhart Wedges assembled. Here’s a shot of the clubheads. You may not be able to tell from the picture but these are precision milled clubheads. They are designed to put super spin on the ball. I’m waiting for the grips to set before I try them out but, once I do, I will give a full report. These are really sharp looking wedges. I coupled them with some True Temper Dynamic Gold Shafts with Sensicore and some yellow and black Golf Pride DD2 grips. The wedges also come with their Patented Reid Lockhart Dual Bounce Sole which makes the wedges easy to hit from the sand as well as from the fairway and rough. These are 52, 56 and 60 degree wedges.

Stay tuned as we at ohiogolfblog.com may become a retailer of this product soon. If they work as good as they look, they should be a smash hit.
