Here’s the par 4 first hole at Blacklick Woods Golf Course. From the white, it measures 367 yards. I crushed one over the right bunker, and the ball hit the cart path and almost made it to the first green on the Green course. I could have just taken it over the pond and the trees and cut the dogleg. By the way, Blacklick is now $20 to walk 18 on weekdays. Still a bargain but I remember paying $15 for the privilege a few years back.

Even if you bomb one way right, you can still have an opening to the green. The fairways were extremely lush and the greens were in good shape and much faster than they looked to be.
Avoid the right side on this tee shot at the 381 yard second hole but don’t go too far left either as there is a pond lurking on that side as well.

Here we are less than a hundie out with the flag in the front of the green.

We enjoyed the company of one of the maintenance crew at the 345 yard third hole. Apparently he was in a hurry to weed eat and sat right behind us as we teed off with his weed eater at about 120 decibels. What a jerk! Here’s a little etiquette tip for the maintenance crew at Blacklick – SHUT THE DAMN WEEDEATER OFF WHILE GOLFERS ARE TEEING OFF!

Here’s the 525 yard par 5 fourth hole at Blacklick. And guess what, we run into the same genius grounds person on this hole as well.

Here’s goober again in an all-fired hurry to mow around some posts. What a pain in the ass! Of course, we had to wait on him to hit our approach shots. Hey and it doesn’t end here.

165 yard par 3 fifth hole – yawn.

Here’s the 543 yard par 5 sixth hole. Not a real great view off the tee.

Here’s the 346 yard par 4 seventh hole. I once drove this hole. Some jerk that joined us at the start who thought he was god’s gift to golf refused to believe it despite seeing the ball on the green and confirming it with the group who was on the green.
And we run into the maintenance crew again. The guy in the next picture stopped his machinery right next to me as I’m trying to hit and just let it idle there. It was almost as loud as the weed eater and just as distracting.

Here’s the second genius maintenance guy at Blacklick (photo taken 6/16/09 at about 12:40 pm) – no regard for golfers by some of these guys.

381 yard par 4 eighth hole. I found the end of the left bunker off the tee.

Approach from the bunker – still saved par!

Here’s the 308 yard par 4 10th hole. I took it straight at the green but the wind blew it a little right and it hit a tree. This green should be easily reachable from the whites.

543 yard par 5 eleventh hole at Blacklick. You really need to hit it down to the bottom of the hill to have a shot at going for it in two and there are plenty of bunkers to trip you up if you do.

371 yard par 4 13th hole. The stars were aligned today as we had a downhill and downwind tee shot from the 13th. I took a nice easy swing and kaboomed one that soared forever in the air. I had around 80 yards to the flag, if that. See the bunker on the right. My ball soared over the left edge – probably a good 50 feet above the bunker at that point. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a ball stay up in the air that long.
Two old guys who were constantly rushing us throughout the entire round waited for me to hit my second before they teed off which was ridiculous because they didn’t come within 70 yards of me. The closest was able to dribble his into the front of that bunker.
One of them was in a cart and after the two teed off, he would drive up as fast as he could to his ball and do his best to look peevish while we finished up the hole. What a bunch of jerks! We played the second nine in one hour thirty six minutes because these rude retirees were constantly up our ass. What a pain! I wish I’d gotten a picture of them. “I’ll make you famous.”
