353 yard, par 4, first hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

356 yard, par 4, second hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

Watch out for the pond on the right. It’s small but catches a lot of balls.

454 yard, par 4, third hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

This is the number 1 handicap hole on the course – mainly because of its length.

188 yard, par 3, fourth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

Don’t pull it left here, you run out of room in a hurry.

402 yard, par 4, dogleg left, fifth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

Blind second shot to a small green makes this hole tough.

209 yard, par 3, sixth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

Severely uphill par 3 makes choosing the right club difficult.

514 yard, par 5, seventh hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

Unless you can really blast one, you’ll have a second shot from an uphill lie making it very tough to get home in two.

404 yard, dogleg right, par 4, eighth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

My buddy blasted it through the dogleg and had less than a hundie to the flag. Nice!

364 yard, dogleg right, par 4, ninth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

Right before we hit, a maintenance worker was clearing off the tee as they had just aerated it. He raked off a spot and said that he had heard that this was the best spot to go for the green from. I took him up on it and sent one into orbit. It shot over the pond and landed on the green. It’s the ball closest to the flag in this picture. First time that I’ve ever done that. I guess I needed to drive the green to make birdie today as this was my lone bird. I’ll still take it!

371 yard, dogleg left, par 4, tenth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

My buddy blasted another one here to where that red and black golf bag is. Kapow!

162 yard, par 3, eleventh hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

This is really a nice hole, especially from the reverse perspective.

485 yard, par 5, twelfth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

This is a short par 5 and easily reachable in two if you can keep it on the green.

Great tee markers!

Approach shot to 402 yard, par 4, fourteenth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

Approach to 380 yard, par 4, fifteenth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

This may be the signature hole on the course or perhaps the next hole . . .

459 yard, par 5, sixteenth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

Tough par 5 – we determined that to go for it in two (which may not be very smart) you need to lay back with your tee shot to clear the trees.

Sixteenth green

432 yard, par 4, seventeenth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

It didn’t seem like it played 432 yards long. Back nine has a lot of severely sloping greens. Here’s another one of them on this hole.

404 yard, par 4, eighteenth hole at Blackhawk Golf Club

Here’s the finish at Blackhawk. We seemed to be having discrepancies with our GPS unit and Blackhawk’s yardages all day. I went with the GPS yardage on this one and almost put it in the parking lot.
