Here’s some fall views from Bridgeview Golf Course that I’m just now getting around to posting. Enjoy!

I updated my Kyber Run Golf Course post with photos of every hole at the course. Check it out!
I received a box of Taylormade TP2 Golf Balls as a gift and finally tried them out today at the course. My first shot was to a par 3 with a pitching wedge. The ball hit on the green and spun back off into the rough. I went up to the green and found the ball mark. The ball had spun back 22 feet from the ball mark. Considering that it probably bounced forward at least three feet after it landed, it really spun back about 25 feet. Granted, it did hit into a slight incline and spun back on a down-slope. But that was crazy. I felt like Greg Norman.
For the rest of the round, the Taylormade TP2 Golf Ball pretty much ended up at or slightly behind its ball mark. Conditions were a bit damp but this ball has some serious spin. I stopped one dead in its tracks with a five iron. I’m going to have to try it again on a dry day to see how it does but for today, it was crazy spintastic. |
It’s the start of golf season and before you dive head first into it, you may want to take a hard look at your golf equipment. If you want a quick and relatively cheap tune up, get some new grips for your golf clubs. There’s nothing like the confidence inspired from new grips on your golf clubs. Couple those grips with a new glove and you’re ready to rip it. These Golf Pride Decade Grips are awfully tempting. They are advertised as the number one grip on tour and they sure look sharp.
Make sure and get fitted for the right sized grip. A too thin grip and you’ll be hooking it. A too thick grip and you’ll be slicing the ball. Or if you want to correct a slice, a thinner grip will help straighten out that ball flight. If you are hooking it, a thicker grip will help. |

Valeria Ochoa appears to be cashing in on her Big Break fame. And why not? She’s started her own golf academy and bills out at $120 an hour. I assume that her academy is at the Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Facility near her home in Florida. Please leave a comment to this post if you know otherwise. She will appear at your event for $1499 with travel expenses additional. She also appeared on the Big Break VII as well as the Big Break III. As long as the Golf Channel keeps her in the public eye, Valeria may be able to keep raising her hourly.
Judging by this picture, she appears to have a good shot at a career in modeling as well. You go, girl! Ouch! Hell, just do us all a favor, Valeria, and take it all off! |

One of my favorite golfing accessories is the Sun Mountain Speed Cart. I’ve had mine for several years now. Prior to the Speed Cart, I used to carry my bag. Sure, the double strap helped out a lot, but it never made any sense losing 3 or more strokes simply because lugging your golf bag on your back tired you out towards the end of the round. Heck, even the pros don’t carry their own bag.
The Speed Cart is the next best thing to a caddy – and may even be better. I love to walk because I get into a better rhythm than when I ride. I have time to consider my next shot as I walk to my ball as well as time to take in my surroundings and enjoy the round. Besides making walking easy on the golf course, the Speed Cart really makes playing in less than ideal weather a breeze. |
