I caught up on my Big Break watching last night. I recorded the first episode. I discovered you can watch a Big Break episode in about 45 minutes without commercials. You can probably watch it faster if you skip through all the “coming up next” scenes as well as the “here’s where we’ve already been” scenes. My big complaint with the Big Break is they chop it up way too much with commercials. Now I’ve got the DVR and will be watching all Big Break shows sans commercials. Bootiful!
Speaking of Bootiful, the Big Break has definitely sexed it up for this show. We start out on the beach in Hawaii with a challenge a la MTV’s Real World vs. Road Rules show. Contestants were divided up into three teams and engaged in a race where they had to locate and follow clues. Whichever team made it to the finish line first won. In this case, they won the use of the forward tees in the upcoming golf challenge. Second place got the middle tees and last got the back tees.
During the initial obstacle course/race, Christina Lecuyer had no problem stripping down to her bikini to get into the pool to get the next clue.
The first golf challenge involved hitting shots to a green from the various tees (depending upon your obstacle course finish). Adrienne Gatreaux exhibited particularly strong mettle as I believe she nailed it in one shot for the win.
Cirbie Sheppard looked like a rank amateur as she struggled to get down in 5 from 50 yards. Sophie Sandolo and Kim Welch continue to express as they exhibit the least nerves under pressure. They are probably boiling over inside but they don’t give it away on the exterior. Those are my early favorites to take this competition. We’ll see how it plays out.
